博多塀(Hakatabei)
When Hideyoshi Toyotomi(1536-1598) launched post-war reconstruction in Hakata, he built mud walls known as hakatabei for shrines, temples, and mansions of wealthy merchants. Burnt stones and roof tiles from the war were secured in these walls with clay.
