こちらに来て初めて聞いたイベントです。Wiki曰く、an American form of dinner theater often held by schools and church groups during the Christmas season. It is set in the Middle Ages and is generally comedic in nature. The meal is divided into courses, each of which is heralded with a traditional song. A play is performed between the courses and a concert of choral music concludes the festivities.　まさにこんなイベントでした。演劇や芸術等の専攻の学生が中世の衣装をまとって、中世の言葉遣いで劇をしながら、本格的合唱をしたり、お客さんとダンスを踊ったり、その合間にコース料理が運ばれてくるというものでした。非常に興味深く、なんだか中世の映画の中に滑り込んだかのような感覚に一瞬なりました。もちろん無料ではなく、日本での宴会1回分位のお金を払わなければなりませんが、どうも寄付金としての目的が強いようです。一見の価値ありでした。
